This privacy policy explains how we collect and process your personal data in connection with your (intended) participation in congresses and events organized by us. Invitation to events

We may invite you to our events and congresses. For this purpose, we may process your name, contact details as well as additional relevant information on your relationship with us. We process this data either based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) or based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR). We have a legitimate interest to maintain and improve our relationship with you.

Registration for and participation in congresses and events

If you decide to register for one of our events and congresses, we process personal data to record your registration and to prepare your participation in the event or congress (Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR). This data may include your name, job position, information about your employer as well as other information we need to organize the event (e.g. regarding food preferences). As far as you provide us with additional optional data as part of your registration, we process this information based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR) to organize an event / congress effectively.

Video recordings and images

At our events, we may take photographs and videos and, as part of this, potentially capture your image.

The focus of the photo and video recordings is on the publicly accessible event as a whole and not individual participants. We may use these images for marketing and advertising purposes in print materials, on websites, publicly accessible company presences and potentially within the framework of other events. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR as we have a legitimate interest to document our events and to use respective images to further our business.

Nevertheless, we cannot rule out that individual or small group photos and video images will be taken. If the recording and/or publication of an image and/or film depicting you for use and publication for marketing and advertising purposes has been agreed in a contract, the parties to which are we and you as the data subject (e.g. because you are a speaker at the event), the lawfulness of this processing results from Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.

In case there is no respective contract between us and we intend to use images where you are clearly recognisable for marketing and press-related purposes, we will only do so with your consent according to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. Consent given can be revoked at any time without giving reasons with effect for the future by contacting us at events@alimerasciences.com.

Disclosure of your data

We may transfer your personal data to companies affiliated with us. We only pass on your personal data within our company group to those areas and persons who need this data to implement our legitimate interests, including in the effective management of our group operations (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).

Data retention period

Your personal data will be deleted when it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes or you have exercised your right to object. If the taking and/or publication of images and/or films is based on your consent, we will delete the images and/or films concerned immediately upon receipt of your revocation, unless further processing can be based on a legal basis for processing without consent.

Additional information

Please note that information posted on the internet, including images and films, can be easily copied and further processed. There are specialised archiving services whose aim is to permanently document the state of certain websites at certain dates. This can mean that information published on the internet can still be found elsewhere even after it has been deleted from the website on which it was originally published.

You are free to decide whether or not to permit the taking and/or publication of images and/or films. In the absence of any conflicting interests on your part, we are only able to publicise this event if we are allowed to take these pictures and/or films. If you participate in the event and do not declare any conflicting interest to us, we will assume that you agree to the taking of photographs and videos.
